Day 23 - Today I took a bunch of baby wash/lotion samples and coupons to a friend with a newborn.

Today I'm grateful for: kids singing in church, laughs with friends, time shopping solo, fried rice, and my daughter fell asleep in my arms

Day 16 - We took boxes of cereal for the Cereal Drive our church is hosting for a local food pantry.

Today I'm grateful for: a wonderful sermon about not running the race of life alone, friends who love our kids, hundreds of boxes of cereal going to those who need it, our new desk chair (1/2 off yay!), time with Scott's parents

Valentines

Good thing I finished these, since Valentine's Day is tomorrow! Tyler's, Devon's, Emily's in order. Devon's sentiment is hand written, the other two came in the Flopsey set.

A couple of nights ago Scott was teasing at dinner that he didn't know who his Valentine would be since no one had asked him, so I couldn't resist ...

Day 14 - Today I gave away a few packages of notecards.

Today I'm grateful for: mocha latte, dry basement, fun Valentine's party, pizza and movie night, bubbles blowing in the breeze

3D Thursday

The boys are making their own, but Em still needed a 'box' to collect Valentines at the party. Anyone who knows my daughter will tell you she is a girly-girly-girly-girl. It's not my influence, she came that way. ;-) Little diva always carries a purse so when we saw this green felt purse at Hobby Lobby last night...on sale for $2!...I knew we had found her Valentine's 'box'.

This necklace kit was also on sale ($1.50) and the green matches the purse perfectly. After I got it strung and draped on the purse, I realized I wanted something in that open space above the necklace so I went rooting through the craft closet.I found metal letters from We Are Memory Keepers. I used a MarkIt to color the E hot pink. That wasn't quite enough, so I added rhinestones. I haven't decided if they finish it off or take it too far, but Em likes it.

So, for $3.50 Em had a cute Valentine 'box' for the party and has a new purse and necklace to boot.

In the interest of not showing 'favoritism', I must show the boys' boxes. ;-D They each came up with the design and did all the work.

Tyler made a scene from the show Pinks. One car is popping a wheelie because 'it has so much power, Mom' with a tween eye roll inserted here. The second car has paper trails because 'it's burning out'.

Devon loves the beach, so he painted water, had rocks on the sand and added hearts to show his love.

The roses are gorgeous, but did you see the tiny card? He.Stamped.a.Card.for.Me! lol He said I could show it if I didn't share what was on the inside, so I'll just say it was really sweet.

Day 13 - Today I gave my kids Pop Tarts, something I very rarely buy.

Today I'm grateful for: cinnamon coffee creamer, $10 off day at the grocery store, roses, my sweet husband, pound cake scented candles

Day 12 - Today I took a good candy bar (Cinnabon Caramel Pecan Cluster) to a great friend....and didn't eat the half she offered back to me. I told you she was a great friend. ;-D

Today I'm grateful for: my 'village' of women, children with giving hearts, my daughter's little hand in mine as we shopped, sugar cookie shampoo, the rain stopped - 3.5" overnight is enough

New week, Newly inked

We are going to a Valentine's Party Friday morning. Em's 2, so she needed a bit of help with her Valentines. She helped put on the eraser and the printed stickers on the back that say 'Happy Valentine's Day from Emily'.
The heart stamp is by Stampendous and 'happiness' is a new-to-me stamp from Unity. The heart eraser is attached with a pop dot. After it's carefully removed, the Valentine can be used as a bookmark.

Tyler made two types. Most received the top one. His closest friends received the second one. He was going to color them all, but decided 28 was a lot. The second one is a scrapling so his friends can use it as a bookmark.

Devon did color part of his, but decided against stamping a word in the heart.

No card, but it's Day 9 of the 29 Days of Giving. There is a woman at church who has oodles of style. She doesn't dress flashy or extravagantly, but she always has that extra touch that finishes her outfit perfectly. Every week I admire her and today I told her.

Today I'm grateful for: laughing with friends, homemade chocolate shakes, gorgeous produce at Whole Foods, family time, chocolate-cinnamon soap

Scrap Stack Diving

Day 8 - Today I brought my husband a Caramel Macchiato after I ran morning errands.

Today I'm grateful for: date night, my parents/sitters who delight in spending time with my kids so I can date my husband lol, finally made it to the top of the library hold list for the final Twilight book yay!, chamomile bath oil, the way my son's basketball team treated/respected the physically challenged player on the other team and the standing ovation he received for scoring - made my day

Blessed

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up. We've been friends since we were kids and I know I am very blessed to have her in my life.

Denise has short hair (although not this much lol) and dresses cute. I have long hair (often in a pony) and most often am in Dockers and a T. Denise doesn't wear heels and I never wear capris, but these bellas are close. The huge smiles are dead on because just being with this girl makes me happy.

Day 7 - Today I gave away an acrylic paint holder.

Today I'm grateful for: good books, family time, lavender-baby powder bath oil, pinot noir while husband and kids watch Clone Wars, girlfriends who knew you 'when' and still stick around ;-)

3D Thursday

My Valentine's treats for my 2nd/3rd grade Bible study class.


Inside is a fun size bag of M&Ms. The bag is 3"x4", should you ever need to know that...and, yes, I measured. To accommodate the M&Ms, I cut white cs into 4"x9" strips and scored it at 3", 3.5", and 7.5". I punched two hearts in the small top panel, embossed the bottom front panel, adhered the M&Ms with a pop dot and sealed with a sticker. Super easy and super quick because I had 18 to make and laundry calling. After I took the photo I realized it kind of looks like a face. Maybe next time no embossing with 'Happy Valentines Day' stamped for the mouth?

Day 6 - Today I gave away a cross stitch kit.

Day 5 - Today I gave away two dozen Focus on Your Child CDs.

Soft butterflies

This card has a very soft feel in real life, but it didn't photograph well. Maybe with a better photographer, but with me, not so much.
The ivory paper and lavender paper are from the same sheet of gorgeous Anna Griffin dp. It has four squares, two ivory and two lavender. The colors are catty corner from each other and divided by that 'ribbon' at the top of the card. The paper is beautiful and I have one more sheet. The purple scallop square is a felt coaster from Michaels $1 spot that photographed dark, but matches the lavender perfectly in person. The butterflies have tiny adhesive pearls on the bodies.

Day 4 - Today Denny's gave out free Grand Slams. yum I gave our waitress a 30% tip on our 'real' bill, not just on our drinks. Lots of people around us were dropping $1 on the table when they left. The restaurant was packed and she was working hard with a smile on her face. I hope she appreciated the fact that I appreciated her efforts, even if my meal was free. ;-)

Today I'm grateful for: free Grand Slams at Denny's, finding the perfect gift for my niece, quiet reading time, kid hugs, lip gloss

New week, Newly inked

For Mojo Monday 72 http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/02/mojo-monday-72-contest.html With all the layers and that SU Filligree brad, this card is *heavy*, definitely a 'hand-over'.

I found the stamp at Hobby Lobby on clearance for $3.50. I'm not as in to House Mouse as some of my friends (you know who you are, T), but for that price I had to bring it home. I finally got the CB heart folder AND used it before Valentines Day - yay me! All paper is from the Making Memories Sabrina pack.

Scrap Stack Diving

I asked my son to pick something from the scrap drawer again. He brought me this crazy circle paper from his paper stash. I asked him why he bought that and he said 'You got this for me, Mom'. rofl It's still crazy and fun.

I cut out half a dozen circles and placed them on the paper with pop dots for dimension. I ran the ribbon through the Xyron sticker maker. A metal 'garage sale tag' (sure lol looks like craft supply to me) and a metallic dream sticker by Colorbok finish off this psychedelic, crazy card.
