I'm only 'Irish' on one day of the year, but Colcannon, Irish Stew, Soda bread, Guinness, green clothes and nails?  I'm ALL in.

I combined Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Lucky and Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 388 to come up with this fun St. Patrick's Day card:

The clover made from hearts is popped up and the leaves curled slightly for more dimension.

One of our church's staff members is celebrating 30 years in her post, Director of Children's Ministry.  She's always smiling and loving on all of us (even us big kids), so a cheery card to thank her for her dedication was in order.

On a Roll

I looked at the Jan 2012 Sketch for You to Try many times.  I really liked the sketch, but wasn't sure which stamps would fit it.

jan2012sketch

Then I saw a Studio G dice stamp and it came together.  I combined the sentiment on the Studio G stamp and my new fave funny tacky image from Unity.
A few dashed lines for the 'sheets', the end curled slightly so it stands off the page and I'm done.  Now just to decide who should get this errr ummm 'way to go' card. groan

Thanks for looking!

Similar but different....

I needed two thank you cards, so I decided to make them at the same time, using the same stamp and papers.

One for my grandparents:
The big circle paper reminds me of an afghan my grandma has had over the couch for as long as I can remember.

One for my parents:

Same paper set, but a little more modern.

As you can see, the layouts are similar, but the cards have a different feel.

Heartfelt

Diva had to send a thank you note. She wrote it herself, including her 5 year old spellings. Luckily, it was to someone who loves her and can read the love behind the misspellings. lol I thought this cover card worked perfectly.

New week, Newly inked

Emily is finishing up her first soccer season. She had a blast. She was the only girl on her team, but her coach is a girl which she thought was very cool. This is her card to say thank you to Coach Laura for a fun season.

The jerseys are bright blue and lime green. I had to use this super bright paper as the colors are an almost perfect match. I used Mojo Monday 208, which was a great fit for the little thank you card we needed. Nice when it all comes together so easily, isn't it?

Thanks for looking!

New week, Newly inked

I've been gone a month. Yikes! Where did the month go? We finished up the school year, moved the kids' bedrooms around, painted two rooms and got new carpet in three, had VBC, and started spending time at the park and pool. I think I figured out where the month went. ;-D In the process of shifting the kids' bedrooms, I'm moving my craft area to a new room. Of course, I'm finding old/new treasures that I've forgotten about and deciding to release some things. I'm determined for everything to have a place and to not hang on to things 'just because'. We'll see how long my determination holds. lol

Today's card is super simple, but gets the point across.
I LOVE this sentiment. Thanks to my friend, Terry, for alerting me that Michael's has some new Studio G sentiments!

Happy 3rd birthday to my youngest nephew!

I traced all the 3's with gold Spica. You can't see it in the photo, but it's obvious in real life. My nephew's learning his numbers and I know he'll pick them out.

Jake likes tractors right now. I am not a country girl and I had to go searching. This is the big scooper from Wee Tees. Colored in green it looks sort of John Deere-ish, so I went with it. On a dirt brown cake it works, right?

Thanks for looking!

Today I'm grateful for: time with my family, brief cooling rain, white wine, dark chocolate, my sweet nephew

Stamps: tractor from Wee Tees, Studio G numbers, TSOL cake2build

Paper: all scraps

Extras: Copic, Koh-i-Noor, Spica

Penguins in board shorts and hula skirts just make me happy.

Party Time Tuesdays Challenge #10 is Summer Birthday Card. I think the tropical penguins work for that. Normally he's holding a popsicle, but I gave him a cupcake this time. Doesn't he look like he's stiff-arming (finning?) her so she'll stay away from his cupcake? I guess he doesn't want to share. lol

Thanks for looking!

Today I'm grateful for: tiny ballerinas at their first dance recital, ice cream after to celebrate, a break in the stifling heat, family movie night, sweet sun tea

Stamps: Imaginisce penguins, TSOL banners4all cupcake, Studio G sentiment and border doodles
