Immediately, I thought 'wedding', but I don't need a wedding card any time soon.  'Black and white, polka dots and hearts, let me think on that for a bit.'  Then I was digging in my Unity box for yesterday's rocket ship and I have a punny friend who's going through a rough week and voila...

Very simple, but it will make her smile when she opens her mail.

Thanks for looking!

Today I'm grateful for: sunshine, fresh candle made by a friend, bubble baths, Earl Grey, and excellent toffee

After a card for the guy, today's is Just Us Girls Challenge #664 - CAS Birthday

According to the unicorn experts I consulted at the dance studio, unicorns can be any color they want, but their horns MUST be special.  Who am I to argue with 6yo ballerinas?  So, Ms. Unicorn is pink with a two-toned purple mane and her horn is gold *and* sparkly.

New week, Newly inked

I've been gone a month. Yikes! Where did the month go? We finished up the school year, moved the kids' bedrooms around, painted two rooms and got new carpet in three, had VBC, and started spending time at the park and pool. I think I figured out where the month went. ;-D In the process of shifting the kids' bedrooms, I'm moving my craft area to a new room. Of course, I'm finding old/new treasures that I've forgotten about and deciding to release some things. I'm determined for everything to have a place and to not hang on to things 'just because'. We'll see how long my determination holds. lol

Today's card is super simple, but gets the point across.
I LOVE this sentiment. Thanks to my friend, Terry, for alerting me that Michael's has some new Studio G sentiments!
Thanks for looking!
Today I'm grateful for: gorgeous weather, spicy black bean chicken, 4 year old starting to read on her own, carrying a HUGE stack of books out of the library, and my wonderful husband

New week, Newly inked

This is the CAS card I sent to my friend, Kristie, for her birthday last week. Now that I'm sure she's received it I can post it.

The bodies are highlighted with silver Spica, the sun's rays are traced in gold, the frame has a bit of red. Subtle little highlights, but I think just enough.

The butterflies are only adhered by their bodies, the wings are all free.

Flashback Friday

Amy over at Tsuruta Designs threw down a flashback challenge, repost the first card you posted on your blog. eeeeksssssssss! Okay, deep breath, I'm brave enough, so here ya go:

I actually still like the concept and may have to do it again with a little something extra this time.
It's simple, but it was for a man and I think it's pretty yet masculine. It's a good start anyway. lol
My very first post is here.

Not much explanation needed for this simple card.

Tuesday Tyler Challenge

Today Tyler left me a pair of funky scissors. Remember those? HAD to have them, haven't touched them in years? Well, I did today. Thanks, Son!
I colored my apple with Copics and used the blender pen to make a shine mark on the curve. Then I covered it with Crystal Effects. Yes, it's photographed laying down... it's not dry yet. ;-) Perfectly shaped, perfectly red, super shiny? No, he's not organic, but he is super cute!
To highlight the awesome edge, I put red cs on the inside then Versamarked more happy little apples (Bob Ross, anyone?) in a line.

When I first saw this set from Unity, I knew immediately this card is what I wanted to make with it. Lucky for me, it was one of the sets my sweet kids got me for Christmas.
I love its simplicity and am so happy it came out just as I envisioned. Thanks, again, kids! I love the set and will definitely use it a lot.

A Girl Can Dream!

I know I would love to find this tree....

The camera does not do this justice. I stamped in black, then traced with the Stardust pen and added random rhinestones. Super simple card, but the tree just sparkles and glows in real life and I didn't want to take away from its beauty.

Maybe I should name it Edward? lol
